a camera that takes and prints Studio Ghibli style polaroid photos

my polaroid camera has been a beloved tool for many years. in my apartment, I use it to maintain a photo wall of every friend who has visited me.

a polaroid already nudges an ordinary moment towards something a little more whimsical. what if it could take that further still, and print the moment the way Studio Ghibli would have drawn it? my roommate and I made ghiblicam to answer that question. we hooked up a raspberry pi to a camera module, an Instax printer, and a shutter button, so now a single press snaps a photo, Ghiblifies it, and prints it a minute later.
